Shoe Designer Alejandro Ingelmo Tells Elle What He Does All Day

It's no secret that we have a big crush on Alejandro Ingelmo. We've featured him in our annual Hot List last year as a name to remember for his vertiginously sexy heels for the ladies and his urbanely urban take on the sneaker for the boys. We also dropped in on him when he was launching his new Soho story earlier this year. The Latin shoe designer is easy on the eyes, to be sure, and talented to boot. What's not to like? But Elle is asking what, exactly, does that man behind fashion's hottest footwear do all day? A little bit of everything, so it would seem.

Sounds like there's not much Ingelmo isn't involved in with regard to his business! During his day, most of which he spends in his studio at the back of his store, he takes time to sketch and work on his upcoming collection, work on his upcoming website relaunch, including e-commerce, drop in on designer Chris Benz (who we also chatted with earlier this year) to talk about their upcoming collaboration and stops by Bloomindales to chat with the manager about how his current products are selling. Not only that, he even makes time to help customers try on shoes. The man does everything from top to bottom. But fret not, he makes some time for himself by dining at the Soho hotspot La Esquina before heading home. As the saying goesl, all work and no play would make Alejandro a dull boy.
