While catching up on some internet reading over the weekend, we came across this post on GQ's fashion blog The GQ Eye. The short item features the Nike Air Force Hi 3 Denver Nugget a classic basketball shoe with a bit of kicky color. Ok, so it is slathered in rainbow flavor, but what do you think of GQ's caption: "Lamest or coolest gay shoe ever?" We're not sure, but we think we're offended. Just because something has a rainbow on it doesn't necessarily make it gay, GQ. If the left shoe were only attracted to other left shoes, then perhaps it could be considered gay, but this is a full on heterosexual leftie-rightie pair! To be honest, the Prada creeper is our vote for the gayest shoe of the season, not a sports sneaker.
So, are we being overly sensitive? Or is this post in bad taste?
