Hummer: Brand New Gaga!

Hummer: Brand New Gaga!

When Gaga announced at the VMAs that her much anticipated third (second?) album would be titled Born This Way, twitter exploded. A few weeks later, Elton John dubbed the title track "the new 'I Will Survive.'" The album isn't due until 2011, but the air is quickly thickening with an anticipation that it seems very few other than Gaga can still inspire. This new leaked song, which may or may not be available by the time this post goes live, certainly holds our attention. It's upbeat, it's vapid, it's fun. And it's the first Gaga song that's come along in a while with no repetition. There's no ra-ra-ra-ra-ra, no ale-alejandro, no p-p-p-poker face, and certainly no telephoning me-eh-eh-eh-eh-eh-eh-eh. Maybe she's moving on from her (rumored) attempts at mind control. Or maybe not. Nevertheless, it's a catchy pop song and we already can't get it out of our heads.

So here's to you, Gaga. Here's hoping this tracks makes the record. Here's hoping the record is released ahead of schedule. And here's hoping if you ever do make a video for this song it'll be half as fun as "Telephone" was to analyze. Lord knows I love reading into the deeper meanings of everything you do. Just please steer clear of any more outfits made of dead things. That was a bit much.
