DKNY presented their Spring/Summer 2010 collection at the Gramercy Park Hotel Penthouse Monday night. It was sunset and the light was gorge; setting the perfect ambience for a collection that felt light and fresh and yet so cool and chic. The breakout star was the newly tailored DKNY chino. It's a little narrower and slightly tapered. I was immediately reminded of summers in America's heyday: sandlot baseball games and beach vacations on the Long Island coast. Carrying this 1950s nostalgia over was a creamy khaki colored nylon baseball jacket that was The End. I loved! As for the more city tailored looks, the two-toned suit jacket in charcoal and gray was delish (particularly paired with the cotton fleece knit pants). And the updated evening shirt in varied color panels with a white contrast collar was classic but with a twist: perfect for a night on town.
