What I Did Today: Front of Book Still Life Shoot Madness (and Moustaches)

9:30am

Mad dash to my 'puter to email PR peeps and track down much needed samples. Where are the Diesel leather pants for my Freddie Mercury inspired front of book style page? And the Duckie Brown sheer printed button-down shirts from Spring/Summer 2010 for the Live the Life influenced by Valentino in his youth? And, we're closing the November issue: pages routing, fashion stories to sign off on, and images being cut - yikes...

11:00am

The leather Diesel pants arrive and I have all my key pieces for the Freddie Mercury page: epic embellished Dior jacket, Adidas sneakers, sweat wristband, red suspenders, and the essential moustache!

12:00pm

One of the sheer tops from the Duckie finale finally arrives and I'm giddy. So heavenly. An absolute dream. I am feeling American Gigolo, the good ole days of Versace, and a hot seller for next summer. I just had to throw it on Sister Seldon (who happens to work in the art department at our fine magazine). Doesn't she look like Sharon Stone Basic Instinct? Not really, but I lerv that movie and so does mama Woolhead (who's wallpapered office we did our little photo shoot in).

2:00pm

Fashion intern extraordinaire has completed his masterpiece: a pair of Dr. Martens splatter painted and distressed. They look just like the Alexander McQueen Spring/Summer 2010 lace-up shoes (which prob cost an fortune) and are the finishing touch for my Basquiat-esque December/January style icon page. Keep an eye out!
