Jonathan Van Ness's Reaction to Emmy Noms Is Lifeeee
Today, Emmy nominations were announced. The expected happened: Stranger Things, This Is Us, The Handmaid's Tale, The Crown, and Game of Thrones are all nominees. But, in a totally-deserved sweep, Queer Eye earned four nominations: the Netflix show is up for Casting for a Reality Program, Structured Reality Program, Cinematography for a Reality Program, and Picture Editing for a Structured or Competition Reality Program. For the Outstanding Short Form Variety Series category, Executive Producer Jonathan Van Ness, is also nominated for FunnyOrDie's Gay of Thrones.

That brings JVN to a total of five Emmy noms today. Can you believe? Check out his reaction, which is genuinely such a sweet and heartfelt moment captured on his Instagram account. The groomer is overcome with emotion, bending over, jumping, and covering his mouth in disbelief. He's joined by Queer Eye castmates in the video.
"The moment I found out about #gayofthrones , we all just had found out about @queereye 4 nominations, all my friends here are so supportive and excited for my success as much as theirs," JVN captioned the video. "Gay of Thrones was a baby idea @gibblertron and I had that literally was a pipe dream. This is truly out of my wildest dreams ."
JVN wasn't the only one happy with Emmy nominations today - GLAAD President and CEO Sarah Kate Ellis said it was historic for LGBTQ+ creatives all around.
"Today's list of Emmy nominees is a milestone moment for LGBTQ inclusion on television," said Ellis. "With a surge of out actors and creators nominated alongside LGBTQ-inclusive scripted programming and LGBTQ-focused shows like Queer Eye and RuPaul's Drag Race, the Television Academy is finally reflecting how audiences and critics embrace diverse LGBTQ images on television. Emmy voters today sent a clear message of inclusion and acceptance which should be a signal for Hollywood to continue to tell powerful and impactful LGBTQ stories."
