In 2006 David Bromstad won the debut season of HGTV's Design Star, a victory that paved the way for him to launch his own show, Color Splash, soon after. Now in its seventh season, Color Splash recently relocated from San Francisco to Miami, the city Bromstad, his partner, and his dog call home.
We caught up with the adorable designer to chat about Color Splash's new setting, the stereotype of interior designers being gay men, and how much of his success he owes to Walt Disney:
Color Splash: Miami airs on HGTV on Saturdays at 10pm EST/PST. For more info on Bromstad and Color Splash: Miami, visit the show's official website.
