Reality TV-enjoying sapphics, rejoice! Vanderpump Rules star Dayna Kathan came out as a lesbian in honor of Pride.
“Shout out to my fellow late in life lesbians!! HAPPY PRIDE!!!” Kathan wrote in a June 7 Instagram post, showing her sitting on a porch with her friends wearing a camisole top that says “GAY.”
After a short time on season 8 of the Bravo series in 2020, Kathan established herself as a fan-favorite in the border reality TV ecosystem, going on to co-host her own podcast with Vanderpump castmate Katie Maloney, who has also spoken about her attraction to women in the past. Launched in 2024, Disrespectfully focuses on a variety of topics like dating and mental health, and has quickly developed a strong fan base, with Ariana Madix, fellow VP alum and host of the hit Peacock series Love Island USA, giving it a shout-out in 2025.
Kathan initially came out as bisexual in 2019 during her tenure on Vanderpump Rules, and had conversations on screen with Madix about the two of them being “bi sisters” during an episode focusing on L.A. Pride.
“That was my first L.A. Pride ever though... but then I also came out as bi,” she said in the episode. "I just feel so much lighter now that that’s out there.”
Kathan has joined the growing ranks of prominent queer women who have appeared on reality TV, like Selling Sunset alum Chrishell Stause and former Bachelorette star Gabby Windey. Those high-profile revelations come in addition to the casts of LGBTQ+ reality shows like I Kissed a Girl, The Ultimatum: Queer Love, and season 8 of Are You The One?.
Kathan’s social media announcement was met with congratulations from friends and fans alike, with Maloney adding, “My favorite lesbian! I love you so much!!!!!” But one of Kathan’s favorite comments called out the porch’s resemblance to a certain L Word filming location: “Y’all on the front porch at Bette and Tina’s?”
