Singer, actor, and icon Keke Palmer has been embroiled in a shade throwdown with her ex, and the father of her baby, Darius Jackson for a month. We already knew that Palmer had won, but now, there’s absolutely no doubt.
In her latest masterstroke, Palmer is starring in the newest, sexy music video from Usher, the man who’s concert she attended when she wore the outfit Jackson tried to shame her for.
In “Boyfriend,” Usher sings, “somebody says that your boyfriend’s looking for me/oh that’s cool, that’s cool. Well, he should know I’m pretty easy to find, just look for me wherever he sees you.”
Ooooh, that’s shady!!!
At the end of the music video, Palmer wakes up in her hotel room after a dream sequence where she danced and sang with Usher.
“What time is it? Dammit I missed the show! I’m so tired,” she says into her phone. “I’m a mother after all.”
With a wink and a smile, she closes the door on Jackson’s previous comments, which were shaming her for still having a life while being a mother.
The drama all started in July, when Jackson, a fitness instructor who has dreams of one day becoming an actor like his ex, put out a tweet publicly calling out Palmer for the outfit that she wore to see Usher in concert at his Las Vegas Residency.
“It’s the outfit tho…,” he wrote on a picture of Palmer wearing a black, sheer Givenchy dress. “You a mom.”
He then doubled down, claiming that “we live in a generation where a man of the family doesn’t want the wife & mother of his kids to showcase booty cheeks to please others & he gets told how much of a hater he is.”
Palmer made several social media posts clowning on him for thinking he has any right to tell her what to do. She even began selling shirts, hats, and mugs with “I’m a Motha” emblazoned on them to show that she’s above it all.
Now, once again – this time with help from Usher – Keke is having the last laugh.
