Anderson Cooper recently welcomed a second child into his family. Sebastian Luke Maisani-Cooper was born via surrogacy to Cooper and his good friend/ex-boyfriend Benjamin Maisani. Sebastian joins his 22-month-old brother Wyatt Morgan Cooper, who was born in 2020.
Over the years, Cooper has shared many touching moments of his journey into family and fatherhood. From storytime with Dad to a walk in the park celebrating a first birthday, the famed CNN anchor has generously invited us into his family life for multiple occasions, so to celebrate the latest addition to his ever-growing family unit, here's a collection of some of our favorite heartwarming moments that prove how great of a father Cooper really is!
We all shared in the joy of the occasion when Cooper revealed the birth of Wyatt in 2020.
“As a gay kid, I never thought it would be possible to have a child, and I’m grateful for all those who have paved the way, and for the doctors and nurses and everyone involved in my son's birth,” Cooper wrote to social media when he announced the birth of Wyatt, pictured here.
Earlier this month, Cooper reminded his AC360 viewers about that special moment and shared a picture of Wyatt today, aged almost 22 months.
“He is sweet, funny, and the greatest joy of my life,” Cooper beamed. “If he looks particularly happy in this picture, it's because he now has a baby brother. His name is Sebastian, and I would like you to meet him.”
Cooper then shared pics of his newest child, Sebastian, pictured here.
Even though they broke up in 2018 after a three-year relationship, Cooper is sharing responsibility for raising both Wyatt and Sebastian with his ex-partner Benjamin Maisani.
“My former partner is going to be a co-parent to Wyatt even though we're not together anymore,” Cooper said in 2020 on a Late Show With Stephen Colbert appearance. “He's my family, and I want him to be Wyatt's family as well.”
Cooper explained to Ellen DeGeneres on an episode of her talk show last year that he and Maisani “still live in the same house” because they “get along really well.”
“It’s weird but it works,” Cooper said at the time.
Here are just a few more of our favorite pics of Anderson Cooper showing the world how to be a great father.
