Superstars Janelle Monae and Lupita Nyong'o were seen getting close and cozy on Monae's Instagram stories, reigniting rumors that the two may be in a relationship.
In the short video, Nyong'o is holding Monae from behind as the two sway and dance together. Nyong'o has a huge smile on her face, like she can't hide how happy she is to be there with Monae. Is this a sign that the two are together? Honestly, we don't know! But a dyke can hope!

This is far from the first time the two have been seen together -- or rumored to be an item.
Alongside Nyong'o's Black Panther costar Danai Gurira, they walked the 2019 Met Gala red carpet together and later that year Janelle brought Lupita on stage at one of her shows and said she was bringing up her "queen."

But their relationship, whatever it is, has been going on for much longer than that. The two apparently met at the 2014 Met Gala and have become close friends ever since. Of course, with Monae being one of the hottest queer celebs out there, and the friendship being very close, people quickly started speculating that they were more than just friends.
Of course, those rumors clashed with similar ones that Monae and actress Tessa Thompson were dating. After Thompson appeared in Monae's music video for "Make Me Feel," and the two kept on appearing together on red carpets and vacations alike, most of the internet was pretty sure the two were an item.
In 2018, both stars came out, and Thompson said of their relationship, "we're so close, we vibrate on the same frequency. If people want to speculate about what we are, that's okay. It doesn't bother me." It doesn't bother us either, we just wanna know the truth!
At times the conspiracy theories have gone all the way as to include Brie Larson being in a relationship with Thompson that caused the alleged Monae-Thompson breakup and opened the door for Nyong'o to move in.
Of course, there's been a lot less Monae content with anyone recently, as the world is only beginning to open up from a global pandemic. But hopefully, this video is just the tip of the iceberg and we'll get to see a lot more Lunelle content soon!
