Our Lady of Yeehaw Kacey Musgraves wasn't going to make her debut on the Met Gala red carpet and not serve outrageous glamour -- after all, she's our favorite. For Monday night's festivities celebrating "Camp: Notes on Fashion," Musgraves did not disappoint, arriving in a Moschino pink convertible -- her own version of a Barbie dream car -- and serving head-to-toe Toy Story fantasy.
To channel Barbie, Musgraves obviously had to wear Moschino and she really wore Moschino. The Grammy-winner was clad in hot pink leather, matching fur, and a purse shaped like a blow dryer -- Barbie isn't Barbie without her accessories, after all. And to top it all off, Musgraves went full bleach-blonde bombshell with a wig that Erika Jayne would likely rip off of her scalp in envy.
Musgraves revealed on the red carpet that Jeremy Scott had created a custom Moschino Barbie for the Met and she was representing as the full-sized version. I don't know a better woman.
Few celebrities went for full drag on the red carpet, but Musgraves always has high femme fantasy on the moodboard -- this is the woman who guest-judged RuPaul's Drag Race in a denim jumpsuit with a matching whip, after all. And while Barbie was surely on everyone's minds for the "camp" themed gala -- Hailey Bieber turned up in a soft pink confection and bell-shaped updo that was certainly Mattel-inspired, matching thong and all -- no other celebrity went as literal as Musgraves. And that's why we stan.
Musgraves was wearing almost the exact shade of pink as Lady Gaga, who arrived in a voluminous pink gown before cycling through not one but three outfit reveals. The girls are out in full force tonight!
