Ryan Murphy's dance musical Pose, set in 1980s New York, has been greenlit for an eight-episode series, and will feature five transgender actors as series regulars--a record in television. The actors are MJ Rodriguez, Indya Moore, Dominique Jackson, Hailie Sahar and Angelica Ross. The series stars Evan Peters, most recently seen in Murphy's American Horror Story, as well as Orphan Black's Tatiana Maslany, and Kinky Boots's Billy Porter. Our Lady J and Janet Mock have been tapped as script writers, while Twiggy Pucci Garcon, among others, has advised on ball culture.

Indya Moore, who was featured in this year's Out100, also stars in Saturday Church, the debut feature by queer director Damon Cardasis. In Pose, she will be seen playing Angel, a figure on the Harlem ballroom scene. In an interview with Out last fall, Moore gave a hint of what was in the pipeline for 2018, saying, "Although I can't disclose information on other major projects, I will say 2018 is going to be a renaissance and golden age for the rise, incorporation, and visibility of trans people in entertainment media and other areas. Stay tuned, support trans people of color, and encourage/share awareness when and while you learn."

Production on the show is set to begin in February.
