X-Men director Bryan Singer tweeted a photo of himself, Michelle Clunie, and their newborn son this very early this morning. The proud dad captioned the message: "Michelle Clunie and I would like to welcome our beautiful son Dashiell Julius William Clunie-Singer into the world :)"
They confirmed the news of the pregnancy last year (after controversy swirled concerning sexual assault accusations made against him). Although the best friends aren't romantically attached, Singer told Out that he was bisexual last year.
He told Out: "On the six-point, self-assessed Kinsey scale, Singer says, without hesitation, 'I'd definitely be a four." He said his first serious relationship, at 23, was with actress Michelle Clunie, best known for playing a lesbian on Showtime's Queer as Folk.
Singer later confirmed that the two would raise their child together. Concerning his relationship close relationship with Michelle Clunie, he said:
"The last serious girlfriend I had before I discovered [an attraction to men] -- I knew it existed but before I started to explore it -- was this girl Michelle Clunie, who ended up playing Melanie on Queer as Folk. We knew each other many years before but ended up dating when I was 23. She was 19. I wasn't dishonest then because I hadn't had any experiences [with men], and I was attracted to her. I still am. I kept those feelings [about men] to myself, because who wants to hear that? You're dating a guy and he's like, "I also like men." Well -- some girls like that. That's -- I'm complicated."
Congrats to the happy modern family.
