Formal, professional attire doesn’t have to be dull... or black or gray. Consider modern dandies like Patrick McDonald, Ozwald Boateng, and André 3000, who have made colorful suits their signature without neglecting taste or elegance. From the sky-blue hues recently seen at Calvin Klein to Salvatore Ferragamo’s refreshing embrace of mint green to the soft tangerine shades at Gucci, bright, candy-colored fabrics are making a splash on the runway. Think of it as a revival of the 1960s’ “peacock revolution,” when the tailors of Savile Row and Carnaby Street competed fiercely to make their clientele stand out at the office. Thankfully, now we’ve all been liberated from our business duds.
