I don't want to talk about why Kate Gosselin is still in the competition, so let's move on. Actually, most of the stars' dances were underwhelming this week, with the exception of Pamela Anderson who broke from the pack and made it to the number 3 slot on the leaderboard -- not bad for someone bathed in red light and in danger of leaving after the first week. Turns out Pamela "forgot" that it was important to vote, she didn't vote, her kids didn't, it slipped her mind. Oh Pamela, way to counter that blonde stereotype. But she fixed it, her votes are up, and her rumba wasn't too raunchy for the judges (even with a full on splits):
As she wrote on her website, "The rumba is the dance of love. If anything, I have a lot of love to give."
Evan and Nicole are obviously in the final, so the rest of the show is about who will be in the third slot. Now the mediocre dancers split between those who will rise to the challenge and those who are hanging on for dear life. Aiden was axed last night, and Niecy was close, but while we wait for the stars to work out their kinks during these middling weeks, the show does give us some good dance to enjoy:
On Monday we had hip hop violinists playing for b-boys and ballet dancers, which could have gone very, very wrong, but luckily was awesome.
On Tuesday night we also had Sade perform her new single "Babyfather" and her classic, "Sweetest Taboo," sounding even better as the timbre of her voice changes beautifully with each year:
I'm still not sure this all makes up for another week of Kate Gosselin, but I'll take it anyway.
