Calling all creatures of the night — West Hollywood’s biggest and boldest Halloween tradition is back. The city’s Halloween Carnaval returns for 2025, promising an unforgettable night of creativity, music, and celebration. Every year, Santa Monica Boulevard transforms into a glittering catwalk of fantasy and freedom, where drag queens, monsters, angels, and pop icons collide in the most fabulous way possible.

And for the first time in years, Halloween night lands on a Friday, setting the stage for an entire weekend of WeHo-style magic, music, and mayhem. The West Hollywood Halloween Carnaval 2025 takes place Friday, October 31, from 6 PM to 11 PM, along Santa Monica Boulevard between N. Doheny Drive and N. La Cienega Boulevard. Admission is free, and the party stretches for more than a mile through the heart of the Rainbow District.

A Celebration Decades in the Making

Since its debut in 1987, the West Hollywood Halloween Carnaval has grown from a neighborhood gathering into a global phenomenon. What started as a local street party has become a symbol of joy, freedom, and queer visibility — a place where everyone can show up exactly as they are (or who they want to be for the night).

Whether you come dressed as a vampire, a pop diva, or a six-foot-tall glittering alien, one thing’s certain: there’s no Halloween like West Hollywood’s.

From elaborate group ensembles to jaw-dropping solo looks, attendees go all out. The Carnaval embodies everything West Hollywood stands for: inclusivity, artistry, and unapologetic fun. And when the street party winds down, the city keeps the spirit alive all weekend long. Rooftop parties, bar takeovers, and costume balls pop up across WeHo, proving that Halloween here isn’t just a night; it’s a full-blown celebration of self-expression.

Produced in partnership with Authentic Agency and longtime event producer Liam Lynch, the Carnaval continues a twelve-year tradition of blending entertainment, activism, and artistic freedom into one electric night of community and joy.
