Tim Burton's 1988 gothic comedy Beetlejuice will be coming to Broadway, baby.
A musical stage version of the film will have a pre-Broadway run in Washington, D.C. next October before coming to New York City, Deadlinereports.
The original Beetlejuice starred Michael Keaton in the title role as a ghost come to haunt a couple and their daughter, Lydia, played by Winona Ryder. Catherine O'Hara, Jeffrey Jones, Alec Baldwin, and Geena Davis all also starred.

Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson's Alex Timbers is set to direct--he's also the creator of Amazon's Mozart in the Jungle. Broad City writers Scott Brown and Anthony King will write the book, and Eddie Perfect, who is also working on the upcoming King Kong musical. The rest of the creative team includes individuals who've worked on everything from Hamilton to Frozen to The Lion King to Kinky Boots to Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. No casting announcements have yet been made.
A sequel film, Beetlejuice 2, is also in the works at Warner Bros., pending rewrites.
