Brace yourselves, gays, because while some of us still have glitter stubbornly adhering to our unmentionables from Pride, awards season is already upon us. That's right, on Sept. 22 we'll kick off the most wonderful time of the year with the Emmys, celebrating the incredible shows and performances we loved... and This Is Us, probably. The Emmys coincide with the launch of fall TV and early Oscar hopefuls, and on the season finale of The Outcast, host Rose Dommu sorts through the veritable shitstorm of awards season and fall entertainment with the help of Saturday Night Live's Bowen Yang. Just last week, Yang went from being one of the show's writers to its first queer Asian cast member -- love that for him!
Rose and Bowen go category-by-category (the ones that matter, so just the women) making their picks for who will take home the gold. Along the way they discuss the enduring power of Lady Gaga, wild nights on Fire Island, and Emma Stone's Emmy snub for the SNL short "The Actress."
On WIG, Out's Tre'vell Anderson and The Advocate's Jeffrey Masters give listeners the download on the week's pressing queer news. Is Ariana Grande starring in the Wicked movie? Is RuPaul letting trans women audition for Drag Race? Are Rihanna and Vanessa Vanjie Mateo BFFs? Will The Outcast ever EGOT? Find out on the season finale.
The Outcastis available on iHeartRadio and... pretty much everywhere else. Will it return for season two? In the words of RuPaul, "never say never."
