This week marked the first presidential debate of the 2016 election. While we were rolling our eyes at a majority of the program, Samantha Bee sent her correspondents out to get the public's opinion.
One correspondent was tasked with attending a Republican viewing party at Tonic, a bar in Midtown Manhattan. Another joined the Democratic viewing party at the historic Stonewall Inn in Greenwich Village. While the debate ensued, they interviewed a few spectators from both sides of the debate. The result was a phone call between two strangers with drastically differing viewpoints that went about as well as can be expected.
