Hairspray! Live Recruits Rosie O'Donnell and Sean Hayes
This cast keeps getting better and better.
Hairspray! Live has added two more members to its already star-studded cast.
Producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron announced during NBC's presentation at the Television Critics Association press tour that Rosie O'Donnell and Sean Hayes have joined the cast of the network's latest live televised musical.
Hayes will play Mr. Pinky, the clothing store owner who sponsors Tracy during her big break. O'Donnell will play the high school gym teacher.

Hayes and O'Donnell join an impressive cast, featuring Ariana Grande as Penny Pingleton, Kristin Chenoweth as Velma Von Tussle, Derek Hough as Corny Collins, Jennifer Hudson as Motormouth Maybelle, and Harvey Fierstein returning to his Tony-award winning role as Edna Turnblad.
The production of Hairspray! Live was announced this January, following the success of NBC's recent live televised musicals of The Wiz and Soundof Music. The broadcast is scheduled for December 2016.
