“We belong here and we deserve to thrive and be respected.”
Pride Month is finally upon us and, here in the thick of a Donald Trump presidency, the LGBTQ community is ready for 30 days spotlighting important causes and individuals that make them proud.
Starting today, Logo will be launching the Logo30, a new digital campaign running the length of Pride Month and featuring a different queer person every day who "shows pride in unique and provocative ways." Among those featured will be activists, entertainers, and influencers, all of whom are advancing the LGBTQ conversation.
Helping launch the campaign today is Transgender actor Trace Lysette. "We can't be naive and just ignore that we're still in this civil rights struggle and we have a long way to ago," she said. "Being prideful, I think, is part of self-love and telling this world that, look, we belong here and we deserve to thrive and be respected just like anyone else."
Among others featured this month in the campaign will be Wilson Cruz, Keiynan Lonsdale, Ariana Debose, Peppermint, Jennicet Gutierrez, Margaret Cho, Matteo Lane, Patrick Starrr, Raymond Braun and more, each detailing their own pride and what it means to be queer in today's America.
