In 2014, Denton opted to step down as Gawker's president and recede from day-to-day operations of the media empire he founded. However, the outing of a not-so-public figure -- and the ensuing scandal -- made clear that Gawker wasn't quite ready to see him go. Denton may be back in his former hands-on role, but given the legal battle surrounding Hulk Hogan's sex tape, Gawker drama shows no signs of abating.
