Jaden Smith took to the stage at Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival in LA this weekend with some exciting news. In what appeared to be his coming out, Smith claimed that Tyler, The Creator is his boyfriend.
“I wanna tell you, Tyler doesn’t want to say, but Tyler’s my motherfucking boyfriend and he’s been my motherfucking boyfriend my whole fucking life," Smith passionately told the audience while pointing to Tyler. In a video from Twitter, Tyler is seen laughing and giving Smith the finger, which leads some to believe it's a joke between friends.

Following the show, Smith doubled down on Twitter. He tweeted to Tyler, "I told everyone. You can't deny it now."
Smith has become known for his androgynous style. But he's also been known to say some quite outrageous things. Most memorably, he and sister, Willow gave a pretty head-scratching interview to The New York Times.
In the past, Tyler has seemed to land at multiple places on the spectrum with his sexuality, coming out as bi and gay, but subsequently backpedaling. In 2017, he released "I Ain’t Got Time" from Flower Boy, which featured the lyric, "I been kissing white boys since 2004."
If this is a legit coupling, it's safe to say we all ship this newfound queer power couple. But if it's simply a joke between friends, it seems a little outdated, if not tone deaf. Have we learned nothing from Tyler Posey?
