The season four finale of Orange Is the New Black was one of the most emotionally turbulent and topical episodes in recent years. A crackdown on the inmates left one of the most beloved characters, Samira Wiley's "Poussey" pinned to the ground by a guard, uttering the chilling last words of Eric Garner, "I can't breathe" before she herself took her last breath. The loss of one of their own resulted in an uprising of the inmates that culminated in Daya holding a gun on one of the guards.
Danielle Brooks recently told E! News that the 13-episode fifth season will take place across three days. It's bound to be an incredibly emotional and intense three days--perfect for some justified Netflix binge-watching. But with the show's track record, we have no doubt they can pull it off.
The wait is almost over as we finally have a teaser of the new season. The short 15-second clip doesn't show much, but gives us just enough to want more, complete with a premiere date for us to look forward to.
