Girls' (don't) just want to have fun.
Cyndi Lauper wasn't a fan of Madonna's "Fuck You" speech last weekend at the Women's March on Washington.
While appearing on Andy Cohen's Watch What Happens Live, Lauper applauded Madonna attending the march, but said she didn't believe her anger served "our purpose." Anger, she suggested, "is not better than clarity and humanity." Those are what "opens people's minds."
Scarlett Johansson's speech in D.C. got Lauper's approval, which centered on her experience with Planned Parenthood.
"It was clear, it was eloquent," The pink-haired pop star said. "Yelling just jacks people up. It doesn't communicate any kind of humanity or any kind of story that would open another person's mind."
After Lauper dissed Madge, she joined Rod Stewart and Andy to wrap things up with a "shotski," which we all could use after these last few days.
