Mother Monster gets her own little monster.
Toy company Mattel announced today that a limited-edition Lady Gaga celebrity doll will be produced as a part of a new Monster High doll line.
The pop singer collaborated with her sister, Natali Germanotta, to design the doll, aiming to channel some of her fierce fashion style.
Monster High is the result of a partnership between Gaga's Born This Way Foundation and Mattel. In an interview with Refinery29, Natali Germanotta explained the project's to support and raise kindness and acceptance, while encouraging girls and boys to embrace what makes them unique.
"The partnership with Monster High came to be around October, and it was mostly to support young people and elevate kindness, bravery, and acceptance. I feel like the doll really represents showing your unique self and being the most vulnerable you. Through that, within the design and the aesthetic, and the doll itself, it really puts forward that image to the young kids that will be seeing it and interacting with it. I think it is really important to be honest with yourself and your friends. There is really no better way to live. It can sometimes be scary, but at the same time it is very fulfilling."
The Monster High doll line is mainly geared towards kids who wish to have a more unique and sassy doll. Having a Gaga doll with this aesthetic is more than fitting for the Mother Monster herself.
The Monster High Gaga doll is set to hit store shelves this fall. Read the full interview with Natali Germanotta here.
