Back in 2013, Daniel Radcliffe starred in the film Kill Your Darlingswhich had a famous gay sex scene between him and Dane Dehaan.
The film, directed by John Krokidas, is based on a long-hidden murder case that brought Ginsberg and William Burroughs together at Columbia University.
"Growing up with queer films, there was always some sort of stigma attached to gay characters or gay sexuality..." Krokidas recently told Vulture. ""I felt that not including his sexuality as part of the story would be a crime."
In reference to the sex scene, Krokidas also said that the issues weren't in the actual filming but came about later on during the editing process.
"I remember going, 'Oh shit: You're British, and Allen Ginsberg is one of the most famous Jews of the 20th century,'" he continued. "And Dan said, 'John, my mother's Jewish and I'm circumcised. Play the scene any way you want.' God bless Daniel Radcliffe, he commits to all of his actions."
