When George Lucas sold his beloved Star Wars franchise to Disney, many fans were worried it was a sellout move. But after last week's D23 Expo, the diehards have a whole new experience to look forward to (and potentially lampoon for inaccuracies), and we aren't even talking about The Force Awakens.

Bob Iger announced that Disney will introduce two new Star Wars-themed lands in both Disneyland in Anaheim, California, and as part of the Hollywood Studios park at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. "We are creating a jaw-dropping new world that represents our largest single-themed land expansion ever," Iger said. "These new lands at Disneyland and Walt Disney World will transport guests to a whole new Star Wars planet."

From the concept art unveiled at the expo, the architecture will feature domed structures built into rocky spires that tower above a sort of marketplace/main street area. According to Iger it will feature "humanoids, aliens, and droids," and he vows that nothing will be out of character or astray from the popular mythology.

The parks will feature a cantina, along with two signature attractions. The first is a ride where fans can fly the famed Millennium Falcon, the second an experience feature that will put attendees into a "climactic battle between the First Order and the resistance." An opening date for the is hasn't been announced yet.
