Gay producing duo Craig Zadan and Neil Meron will not be back to produce the Oscars next year, Variety reports.
The pair have produced Chicago and Hairspray as well as the Oscars for the past three years. Two weeks after the Oscars Zadan tweeted: "Hoping that whoever produces the Oscars next year will retain our innovations: TeamOscar program & reading all 24 nom on Oscar nom morning"
Their contract to produce the Oscars was a three-year deal with the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences. Ratings for the most recent ceremony, hosted by Neil Patrick Harris, were 16% below those of the previous year.
