The music video for Martin's second single off his latest Spanish-language album A Quien Quiera Escucha [To Whomever Wants to Listen], is the track titled "Disparo El Corazon" ["Shot to the Heart"].
The music video, which features the ageless pop star staring into a mirror, also contains reflections of same-sex couples on their wedding day (blended with Martin's own reflection) as he sings in Spanish about a love affair that went sour.
The translation of part of the song: "Here goes my confession. Before you, I was no saint. I have sinned, but that is in the past now. Meeting you was like a shot to the heart."
Billboard reported that Martin talked about marriage equality, saying: “By June, the Supreme Court will say, 'Let's stop this nonsense and cover the entire country.' It's inevitable — equality is inevitable." And The Advocate reports that the single father also spoke out recently against gay Italian designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana’s statements calling children born through in-vitro fertilization “synthetic." “Your voices are too powerful to be spreading so much hate," Martin tweeted at the designers. "Wake up, it’s 2015. Love yourselves, guys.”
