After winning a Grammy for her album with Tony Bennett and reminding everyone during her Sound of Music medley that she can indeed sing, Lady Gaga may have a chance to get back in touch with her darker, edgier side.
The songstress has been announced as the first confirmed cast member in the upcoming fifth season of American Horror Story. Gaga whispered the title of Season 5, "Hotel," in her Twitter video announcing. We're sure, no matter what Ryan Murphy has her do, she won't have to twist herself much to fit into the show's darker recesses.

After her Fame Monster era, where she began telling more detailed stories with her music videos, and Born This Way where she poured on the denim and leather of '80s rock, it's abundantly clear that Gaga not only pulls off dark and edgy, she owns it. It was during the BTW days that she met fiance Taylor Kinney on the set of her "You and I" video.
The rest of the cast for the upcoming season is in the air at this point. Jessica Lange said more than once that Freak Show would be her last season, and other regulars -- Sarah Paulson, Emma Roberts, and Taissa Farmiga -- have other projects in the works. So far, Kathy Bates is expected to return. The season premiere is usually in October, and with the Hotel subtitle for the anthology series, we can only assume Gaga's role will be Shining and surreal.
