Eugene Daniels spends his days in conversation with power — and translating what he learns for people outside Washington. He says his work is about questioning influential figures on how they wield authority, holding them accountable, and giving audiences information they can use in their own lives.

As MS NOW’s senior Washington reporter and co-anchor of The Weekend, Daniels brings that mission to viewers each Saturday and Sunday. In 2026, he and Symone Sanders Townsend launched Clock It, a podcast mixing politics with culture.

Previously Politico’s chief Playbook correspondent and White House correspondent, Daniels also served as president of the White House Correspondents’ Association, defending press independence amid battles over access to the president.

His most transformative act, however, happened away from television. Daniels came out at 27 after years of trying to be someone else. “The largest obstacle has been accepting myself fully before anyone else had the chance to do so,” he says. “The second that I accepted me, every single thing changed for the better in my personal and professional life.”

Now Daniels asks powerful people hard questions without leaving any part of himself outside the room and helps audiences reclaim some power of their own. @eugenedaniels2
