Activists and philanthropists Marc Martorana and Don D'Arminio have been together for 30 years and have been serving the community of Wilton Manors, Florida, for the past 18. D'Arminio was elected to the Wilton Manors City Commission in 2022 and continues to serve as a city commissioner.
The big-hearted couple has hosted over 100 charity events in their home since 2011, helping raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for LGBTQ+ causes. They’ve been recognized for their humanitarianism by orgs like Dolphin Democrats, Human Rights Campaign, Stonewall Museum and Archives, and many others.
An obstacle Martorana and D'Arminio say they face in their work is “encouraging more people to get involved in activism and philanthropy to support our community.”
“In these trying times, we are stronger as a community, and must put any differences aside and come together for the betterment of our community,” the couple says. “We believe in giving back to the organizations that support our LGBTQ+ community. Our hope is that our giving inspires others to give back.”
