For the last four decades, actor, writer, and comedian Judy Gold has been solidifying herself as a queer entertainment icon. The Emmy and GLAAD Award winner has multiple comedy specials under her belt, including on HBO, Comedy Central, and Logo. Recent film credits include 31 Candles and Love…Reconsidered. And she has had a lengthy tenure on sitcoms, getting her start on classics like Roseanne and Margaret Cho’s All-American Girl, and currently starring in Hulu’s Not Suitable for Work and Paramount+’s The Varnell Hill Show.

In addition to making frequent guest appearances on The View, Today, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Gold has also authored two books, written and starred in three critically acclaimed off-Broadway hit shows, and recorded three comedy albums.

Her message as an Out100 honoree? “Don’t let anyone tell you who you’re supposed to be, what you’re allowed to say, or how much space you’re allowed to take up. Your voice is your power. Use it. Fight for it. And when someone tells you to quiet down, get louder.”

So, after accomplishing so much in her life and career, what’s next for Gold? “That is probably the worst question you can ask someone in show business!” she quips. “Who knows what’s next?” @jewdygold
