There are fears that it could cause “significant harm” to her career.
Over the summer Katy Perry became entangled in one of the most high-profile music industry court cases in recent history.
After it was revealed that Perry gave a deposition in Dr. Luke's lawsuit against Kesha, the Witness singer's name was thrown into the vat churning around the case. Luke's lawsuit fires back at Kesha for defamation after the "Praying" singer accused him of sexual abuse and rape.

Now Perry is trying to keep her deposition from the case sealed, responding to a judge that may have been prepared to release a transcript of her testimony today. According to Page Six, Perry's lawyer filed the emergency motion on Monday, saying: "The sealing of Ms. Hudson's deposition testimony is particularly appropriate because disclosure - in light of her public profile - obviously could unfairly affect and even cause 'significant harm' to her 'career and reputation,'" her lawyer wrote in the motion, according to court documents. He also said Perry is "vulnerable to 'gossip column' frenzy," and claimed that her testimony is "not germane to the public" because of its "tangential" nature to the case.
Perry was first pulled into the case when text message history between Kesha and Lady Gaga was subpoenaed, revealing that Kesha had implied to Gaga that Perry had been raped by Luke.
