Martinez denied the claims over Twitter.
Melanie Martinez, the singer behind such tracks as "Pity Party" and "Mrs. Potato Head," has been accused of raping her former friend and fellow songstress Timothy Heller.
In a Twitter post, Heller accuses Martinez of repeatedly making sexual advances on her while she said no. She also says Martinez made moves on her while they were asleep, and that Martinez performed oral sex and used sex toys on her without Heller's consent. Here's the post:
Martinez responded over Twitter a few hours later, denying the claims of rape and saying "I am horrified and saddened by the statements and story told tonight by Timothy Heller" and adding "We both had pain in dealing with our individual demons and the new paths we were forging, but I truly felt we were trying to lift each other up. She never said no to what we chose to do together. And although we parted ways, I am sending love and light always." Take a look below:
