It's the perfect playlist for your first BBQ of the season.
With their new album, Faraway Reach, house-pop maestros Classixx have cooked up the perfect mix for your next barbecue, rooftop bash, or jaunt to the beach. Since they're such experts in the field, we asked the DJ and production duo of Tyler Blake and Michael David what they'll be dancing to as the days get longer and the nights get fuzzier.
Junior Boys, "No One's Business"
"A subtle, beautiful song from their most recent record."
Coma, "Lora"
"It doesn't sound like anything else out right now. It's one of those songs you'll find yourself humming without realizing. It gets into your head while being sophisticated at the same time."
Dolle Jolle, "Balearic Incarnation"
"This has always been a staple in our DJ sets when the sun is out. The title says it all. Also, Todd Terje did an excellent remix if you're looking for more of a night version."
Shintaro Sakamoto, "Don't Know What's Normal"
"A perfect groove from the Yura Yura Teikoku front man."
Bibio, "Town & Country"
"One of those songs you swear you've heard before until you realize it only just came out. We're glad people are still making music that sounds like this."
Classixx, "Grecian Summer"
"The first track on our new album. A friend said it reminded him of the summer concert series they do at the Greek, an outdoor theater in Griffith Park, so we named the song after it."
Tops, "Way to Be Loved"
"This Montreal band captures potent nostalgia in its recordings."
Phillipi and Rodrigo, "Gueto de Gent"
"Our friend Gorky just came out with this banger. We'll definitely be playing it at pool parties this summer."
Christine and the Queens, "Tilted (Paradis Remix)"
"She's a French singer with a voice and style very much her own. 'Tilted' is a great intro to her music, and this remix is particularly vibey."
