Christopher Guest is responsible for some of the funniest movies of the past 30 years: This Is Spinal Tap, Waiting for Guffman, A Mighty Wind, For Your Consideration, and the crown jewel in that comedically tacky tiara, Best in Show.
In October, Guest returns with some familiar faces--and a few new ones--for Mascots, about the glamorous (?) high-octane (?) world of, well, mascots. And the interesting (?) people behind the masks.
Guest alums including Parker Posey, Jennifer Coolidge, Jane Lynch, Fred Willard, Ed Begley Jr., and Bob Balaban are joined by game rookies Zach Woods, Chris O'Dowd, and Sarah Baker for the Netflix original film.
Sadly, it looks like only Eugene Levy and the divine Catherine O'Hara are sitting this one out, no doubt stuck up Schitt's Creek.
Meanwhile, Mascotstakes place "in the ultra-competitive world of sports mascots where they compete for the most prestigious award in their field, the Gold Fluffy." Hilarity, inevitably, ensues.
