Trailer Trash: 'On the Road'

On-the-road-trailer-main

The film, based on Jack Kerouac's legendary homoerotic novel, looks headed for Oscar glory.

On the Road is Jack Kerouac's era-defining tale of jazz, equality, and, of course, drugs during the postwar Beat Generation, supposedly based on his own life experiences. A film adaptation has been in works for years, and has encountered its fair share of stops and starts, but finally, its trailer has arrived. Boasting with a star-studded cast featuring the likes of Garrett Hedlund, Sam Riley, Kristen Stewart, and Kirsten Dunst (keep your eyes peeled for a Peggy Olson cameo!) and directed by Walter Salles, the mastermind director behind another coming-of-age-whilst-traveling movie, The Motorcycle Diaries, On the Road is poised to be a must-see and is slated to premiere later on this year.
