Miami Beach is preparing to turn rainbow-hued once again as Miami Beach Pride returns for its 18th annual free festival April 11 & 12. This year’s events promise to be filled with major performances, new programming, and the vibrant community spirit that has made it one of the nation’s most anticipated Pride celebrations.

Set to unfold across South Beach in April, the multi-day event will transform Lummus Park and Ocean Drive into a sprawling cultural hub of music, art, advocacy, and celebration. Organizers expect hundreds of thousands of attendees from across the United States and abroad, underscoring the festival’s growth from a modest local gathering in 2009 to a globally recognized Pride destination.

Ten Days of Celebration Culminate in “Drag Me to Pride”

This year’s festivities extend well beyond the traditional weekend, with ten days of official events spanning community gatherings, social parties, arts programming, and advocacy initiatives across Miami-Dade County. The lead-up is designed to engage both residents and visitors, building momentum throughout the week before the main festival.

The celebration reaches its peak on Friday, April 10, the night before the festival weekend, with the debut of Drag Me to Pride,” a large-scale spectacle positioned as the grand finale of the pre-festival lineup.

The event will feature five alumni from RuPaul’s Drag Race, bringing nationally recognized drag talent to South Beach for a high-production showcase of performance, fashion, comedy, and theatrical artistry. Among them are All Stars winners: Ginger Minj, Trinity the Tuck and Jimbo the Drag Clown, also featuring standouts Lana Ja’Rae and Kenya Pleaser, fresh from the Season 18 runway to the Pride stage.

Organizers say the show is intended to honor drag’s central role in LGBTQ+ culture while delivering the kind of spectacle typically reserved for major touring productions.

“This is designed as the ultimate kickoff, a night where the energy, creativity, and history of drag set the tone for everything that follows,” said Board Chairman, Bruce Horwich.

Music Headliners Reflect a New Generation

The festival’s entertainment lineup continues across Saturday and Sunday with nationally recognized artists spanning hip-hop, pop, drag and alternative scenes, a reflection of Pride’s increasingly broad cultural reach.

Princess Nokia, the genre-defying rapper and cultural icon, is set to deliver one of the weekend’s most anticipated sets Saturday night. Known for blending hip-hop with punk, house, and Latin influences, she has built a devoted following through music that centers identity, empowerment, and self-expression, themes that align closely with Pride’s ethos.

Also taking the stage is rising pop act SNOW WIFE, whose theatrical sound and bold aesthetic have gained traction across social platforms and festival circuits. Her performance is expected to draw younger audiences while complementing the event’s high-production main stage programming on Day 2 of the free 2-day festival.

Beyond the Stage: A Full Cultural Experience

While celebrity performances anchor the schedule, Miami Beach Pride’s appeal extends far beyond concerts. The festival grounds will feature dozens of community organizations, interactive installations, food vendors, and wellness services, creating an environment that blends celebration with outreach and education.

Family-friendly programming will again play a prominent role, including dedicated events for children and parents the weekend before the festival. During the festival run, health organizations will provide testing, information, and confidential services, continuing a longstanding focus on community care.

The weekend culminates with the signature Pride Parade along Ocean Drive, where elaborately decorated floats, marching groups, and performers move past cheering crowds framed by South Beach’s iconic Art Deco skyline.

A Celebration With Meaning

Now in its 18th year, Miami Beach Pride arrives at a moment when LGBTQ+ visibility carries renewed cultural and political significance. Organizers say the festival aims to balance joy with purpose, honoring progress while acknowledging ongoing challenges faced by the community.

City leaders have embraced the event as both a symbol of Miami Beach’s inclusive identity and a major economic driver, filling hotels and energizing local businesses during what has become one of the city’s busiest weekends of the year.

For attendees, however, the draw is often more personal.

“Pride is where people find their community, sometimes for the first time,” Bruce Horwich, Board Chairman, said. “It's a celebration, but it’s also belonging.”

Looking Ahead to a Milestone Weekend

With ten days of lead-in events, a new headline drag showcase, and major musical performances, the 18th annual Miami Beach Pride is shaping up to be one of the festival’s most ambitious editions yet. From the theatrical spectacle of “Drag Me to Pride” to the high-energy main stage sets, the weekend promises a blend of entertainment, activism, and shared experience unique to Pride celebrations.

As South Beach prepares for the influx of visitors and a sea of rainbow colors, one message is clear: Miami Beach Pride isn’t just returning, it’s raising the bar.

The countdown has already begun.
