It’s the middle of the week, and we’re here with another Out Newsletter.
So far this week, we talked about the queer celebs who hard launched relationships this year, and the ones who have gotten engaged or married, talked about the women who saved our lives, and gave you a queer behind-the-scenes look at attending the Oscars.
The most surprising story of the week so far has definitely been the sudden firing of Beau DeMayo, the Black and gay creator of X-Men ‘97. When the news broke that he was fired, the entire Out team was scrambling to find out all the information we could and put it together for you.
We first profiled him back in 2022, and everything seemed set for the release of the show later this month. That is, until he was surprise fired by Marvel just days before the Hollywood premiere of the show. We’ll be sure to update you with more information as it comes out.
Also, happy Purim to all those who celebrate!
Now, onto the other biggest pop culture stories of the week!

Woman Crush Wednesday
Our Woman Crush Wednesday for this week goes to the beautiful Dylan Mulvaney who celebrated her second year of girlhood by releasing a song “Days of Girlhood,” that celebrates all the fun things about being a girl. Happy birthday Dylan, you’re our Woman Crush Wednesday!
This Week in Out History
In March of 2014, the United Kingdom passed marriage equality, and was set to allow same sex couples to get married beginning on March 29. However, a part of the law allowed queer Britons who had been legally married in other countries to have those relationships recognized at midnight on March 13. That means it's been ten whole years since the first legally recognized gay marriages in England!
Inspirational Quote
“Let everything you feel be fertilizer: anguish, anxiety, fear, grief, joy, love, mourning, rage, sorrow, wanting, yearning. And let us not be distracted or deterred from our duties in the garden of liberation: honoring our place, taking the risk to bloom again and again, planting seeds of reliance and leaving the soil richer for generations to come.” – Raquel Willis.
I’ve been listening to the audiobook of Raquel Willis’ memoir The Risk It Takes to Bloom this week and wanted to share a quote with you.
