Your skin has two best friends: water and sleep. Although it's your job to stay hydrated during the day (drink at least eight glasses of water), your body does all the work at night, generating skin cells and antioxidants to give your face a fresh, restored appearance. But for those of us who struggle to get sufficient zzz's, there is a secret weapon: a nighttime treatment. The good ones will cost you, but they'll also combat dullness, pimples, and signs of aging. After washing your face, apply two drops of a concentrated serum, a newcomer to lines from Lab Series and Kiehl's that can help smooth out fine lines and counteract the effects of gravity. Next, add a night cream suited to your complexion. If your skin is oily, opt for a lightweight structure that lets your pores breathe, such as Shiseido's Hydro Master Gel. Sensitive or dry skin calls for a rich, creamy formula, like Algenist's or Context's restorative night creams, boosted with moisturizing nutrients. Follow these simple steps, and you can rest easy.
