It seems as though Tyra Banks is not ready to let go of her beloved reality television competition series, America's Next Top Model.
The former host and model announced the show's comeback in the third episode of the Netflix docuseries, Reality Check: America’s Next Top Model, which delves deeper into the problematic elements of her show. According to Entertainment Weekly, Banks confirmed the series will return for season 25 after its last run in 2018.
While further details have not been unveiled quite yet, Banks said, "After the show, I had so many different ideas for my life. I’m obsessed with pivoting. And I live in Australia now." Banks continued, "I feel like my work is not done. You have no idea what we have planned for cycle 25," right before the docuseries ends.
The publication says they reached out to Bank's team for comment but did not immediately hear back. According to EW, Banks previously stated she was open to bringing the show back and hinted that it would be an all-stars season featuring contestants from different seasons.
However, over the years, fans have scolded Banks for allowing and indulging in the show's more problematic elements and challenges, including having models in Blackface, the judges' body-shaming of the contestants, and not protecting a model who was inappropriately touched during a photoshoot challenge, to say the least.
Banks has addressed the backlash to the show. Just last year, she acknowledged that there were some missteps while speaking at the Essence Black Women Awards in 2025, where she said, "Did we get it right? Hell no. I said some dumb shit.” She went on to say, "But I refuse to have my legacy be about some stuff linked together on the internet when there were 24 cycles of changing the world. And I am so excited that I, and so many of us, have opened that door for others to follow.”
Reality Check: Inside America's Next Top Model premieres Monday, February 16 on Netflix.
