You’ve probably heard of a threesome, but what about a fivesome?
The production company responsible for bringing LGBTQ+ fans the RuPaul’s Drag Race universe just released a teaser for a new show focusing on five people who are all in a relationship with one another.
The Polycule, an upcoming docuseries from WOW Presents Plus, follows an “unconventional five-way love story” in Silicon Valley.
The reality TV show stars Eric Wong, Hamilton “Milty” Du, James “JJ” Lee, Jonathan “JC” Chien, and Michael Li, who have already been sharing the story of their modern queer relationship on their YouTube channel, The Cule Kids.
“From communication to jealousy, intimacy, celebrations, sex and the realities of sharing a life with multiple partners, nothing is off the table,” the synopsis for the upcoming unscripted shows reads.
The teaser trailer promises audiences an unfiltered look at what happens when five Asian men fall in love and start dating, tackling everything from sex and jealousy, to family expectations, to how to find a big-enough bed to fit them all.
“The Polycule gives audiences a window into a family dynamic that many people may not have experienced firsthand,” World of Wonder cofounder Fenton Bailey shared in a statement to The Wrap.
Fellow cofounder Randy Barbato also pointed out that the show is all about love and found family — themes LGBTQ+ audiences will relate to. “At its core, this is a series about love, connection, communication, and figuring out how to make a chosen family work — even when you don’t follow the traditional rules,” he said.
The Polycule is coming soon to WOW Presents, but the premiere date hasn’t been released yet.
