Nicholas Galitzine and Julianne Moore are have a gay old time!

Last year, Nicholas Glitzine made us swoon when he played Prince Henry in the gay rom-com Red, White & Royal Blue; now he's going back in time to visit the royal court again, but this time, it's for a diabolical reason!

The upcoming miniseries Mary & George follows Countess of Buckingham Mary Villiers (Julianne Moore), who plotted to gain power and influence by training her son George (Galitzine) to seduce King James I of England.

Believe it or not, this wild plot full of sex and social climbing is based on a true story. After Mary Villiers' first husband died, she was left penniless with four kids to feed, so in an attempt to improve her social standing, she started a long con that all hinged on her handsome son George.

She skimped and saved to send George to France to get a high-class education, and once he returned home, she sent him to win hearts and minds— and bodies — in the English court. Once there, he became the King's Royal Cup bearer and confidante and, in the eyes of some historians, his lover. Apparently, he called George "Steenie" after St Stephen, who had "the face of an angel," Cosmopolitan reports.

While not all scholars agree that the King and George were super gay for each other, historian David M. Bergeron said that George "became James's last and greatest lover." Regardless, his mother's plotting did work because the King appointed him Duke of Buckingham, and George even mentored his son, who would eventually become King Charles I.

Sadly, things didn't didn't end well for George or King James. When the King died in 1625, George was accused of poisoning him. Luckily nothing came of the allegations, but he was assassinated three years later, likely due to his waning popularity in court.

The Sky Original series Mary & George premiers on Starz on April 5, 2024, but until then, check out our favorite moments from the spicy trailer that have us DYING to binge the whole show!

1. "May I perform for you?"

Galitzine has chemistry with multiple men on screen, but the fire between him and the King is scorching! Early in the trailer, he gets as close as he can to the King and asks "May I perform for you?" YES!!!

2. This is not a drill! There is an orgy scene!

The trailer cuts away before it shows us too much, but there is definitely a group sex scene and we can’t wait to see what a royal orgy looks like! Maybe an antiquated version of Eye’s Wide Shut?

3. The drool-worthy period costumes

Julianne Moore wears incredible dresses and austenatious hats, there are wigs galore, and Galitzine is decked out in jewelry — including an earring that makes him look oh so hot!

4. The spicy scenes

We see George and King James share a steamy kiss and then later in the trailer we see them together again where a shirtless George spins the King around before pushing him down. The trailer cuts away then, but *fingers crossed* we’ll get the full scene when the actual show premieres.

5. Julianne Moore spitting on someone!

She may look posh and proper, but when she's been insulted she's not afraid to cut a b*tch!
