You gotta ring them bells, GLAAD!
The LGBTQ+ media organization threw its annual GLAAD Awards on Thursday. And among the many highlights of the evening, none could compete with a surprise appearance from Liza Minnelli.
The gay icon, who turns 80 next week, appeared onstage flanked by a phalanx of dancers, sparking a standing ovation from the audience at the Beverly Hilton. The crowd sang "Happy Birthday" to the icon, with host Jonathan Bennett bringing out a cake with candles.
"You make me so proud because you're strong and you stand up for what you believe. You really do. And it's so nice to be here with you," Minnelli said.
In addition to her upcoming birthday, the EGOT legend is also releasing her highly anticipated memoir, Kids, Wait Till You Hear This, on March 10.
The 37th annual GLAAD Media Awards, which honors excellence in queer media, also boasted appearances from Quinta Brunson, the cast of Heated Rivalry, and Demi Lovato.
Watch Minnelli's appearance ahead.
