There's some perks to living with family.
In an exclusive clip from the new film Bookends shared with Out, Nate (Noam Ash) goes on a romantic stroll with Daniel (Charlie Barnett), where he explains that staying with his grandparents has its upsides.
"They totally drive me crazy. But it's good for them to have company on their age. And living rent-free while I work on my book isn't the worst thing in the world," he shares.
When Daniel asks what kind of book Nate is working on, he replies, "It's a love story."

In Bookends, directed by Mike Doyle, Daniel is the doctor for Nate's grandparents (F. Murray Abraham and Caroline Aaron), who are Holocaust survivors. Nate, a gay writer, had left his city life to stay with them after a bad breakup, and he finds his grandfather dealing with dementia and his grandmother in denial. The potential for romance, however, presents another reason for Nate to stick around.
