You Can Now Rent the Real Barbie Malibu DreamHouse Through Airbnb

Life in plastic, it’s fantastic!

Ahead of the release of the live-action Barbie movie on July 21, Mattel partnered with Airbnb to create the ultimate Barbie DreamHouse experience in Malibu, California.

For a limited time, guests can actually book to stay at this very real Barbie Malibu DreamHouse. The announcement reads:

“The Barbie Malibu DreamHouse is back on Airbnb. But this time, Ken’s hosting. While everyone’s favorite doll makes her live-action film debut in Barbie, Ken transformed the pink palace with maximum Kenergy – cowboy hats, rollerblades, you name it. Everyone in Barbie Land can request to book these stays on July 17 at 10 am PT.”

Details in this Barbie Malibu DreamHouse include pool floats spelling out “KEN,” interior decoration with a Western theme, and even a life-sized plastic horse in the changing room. There’s obviously also a workout zone on the patio, a dedicated disco room, and plenty of tanning area by the swimming pool.

Ken’s official description of the house (released by Mattel) reads:

“Welcome to my Kendom! While Barbie is away, she has handed over the keys to her Malibu DreamHouse this summer and my room could be yours for the night. I’ve added a few touches to bring some much-needed Kenergy to the newly-renovated and iconic Malibu DreamHouse. Placed perfectly above the beach with panoramic views, this life-size toy pink mansion is a dream come true!”

Other marketing tactics used to promote this new Barbie movie include an Xbox-themed console, the Barbie dream car featured in the Forza Horizon 5 game, a Barbie-themed hotel, an official Barbie shop from ALDO, and even a Warner Bros-sponsored Barbie-themed boat cruise setting sail in Chicago.

We’re now less than a month away from watching the long-anticipated Barbie film… and we simply cannot wait!
