This week, we got the first teaser for Army of the Dead, Zach Snyder's new zombie heist movie starring Tig Notaro but where was our favorite lesbian pilot?
The trailer starts off showing a helicopter (presumably piloted by Notaro) flying over a destroyed Las Vegas. As we see the destruction of the city we meet some of the characters, but unfortunately, there's no Tig. Late in the clip, there's another scene of the helicopter, but still no sign of the pilot.
Still, we can't help but be excited for the film. Notaro is great in everything she's been in and even if she's not in every scene, she's sure to steal the show.
Notaro was first added to the cast after the actor originally in the role, Chris D'Elia, was accused of sexual misconduct by several women. Snyder cast Notaro as the character and digitally replaced D'Elia in scenes with new footage shot with her. While the character's name and some dialogue was changed, the role remains largely the same.
We got our first look at Notaro in the film in January, when Entertainment Weekly shared the first images of her character, helocopter pilot Marianne Peters.
The film is Snyder's first after stepping away from Justice League back in 2017, and follows a group of mercenaries who are brought together during a zombie outbreak in Las Vegas to pull off the greatest heist of all time.
What the trailer lacks in lesbian helicopter pilots, it makes up in zombie hordes, undead elvis impersonators, baseball bats filled with nails, and huge action scenes.
Army of the Dead also stars Dave Bautista, Ella Purnell, Ana de la Reguera, Matthias Schweighofer, Omari Hardwick, Hiroyuki Sanada, Garret Dillahunt, Raul Castillo, and Nora Arnezeder. It's set to debut on Netflix on May 21, and we can't wait to watch. Check out the trailer below.
